Aaron Robinson is a creative professional from Long Beach, CA. A 2012 graduate of Steven Spielberg's alma mater, he is an accomplished scholar of film, with over 20 student film editor titles. Most of his work has gone on to screen at a plethora of film festivals through-out the country, including his favorite locals, the Los Angeles Short Film Festival and Hollyshorts. Now diving into the independent market as a zealous short-form editor pursuing narrative and documentary work, his invaluable experience with 35mm film and all digital formats makes him an asset to any post-production team.
“Film editing is now something almost everyone can do at a simple level and enjoy it, but to take it to a higher level requires the same dedication and persistence that any art form does.”
Aaron has taken these words to heart, humbly touting himself as a lifelong pupil of film, growing with each new project. He's an exceptionally passionate filmmaker and an aspiring feature film editor, who works tirelessly on every project he tackles to produce the best result. Educated and involved in all aspects of post-production, he enjoys following his works from the edit to the final grade. Intrigued by the employment of all cinematic elements that cohesively create a comprehensive and engaging film, Aaron implores his clients to involve him in the entire post process to bring the directors dream to fruition. "There's nothing more fulfilling than the editor, sound designers, visual effects artists, composer, and the colorist working together to stimulate the desired emotion (or sometimes illicit introspective thought)," he says. This is why the dialog and relationship amongst the post department is essential. It’s a process he loves and practices to create the best film. Regardless though, post-production begins with "the cut", the crucial task that takes dedication, scrupulous patience, and a pensive eye. Aaron's emotional investment, might be his defining characteristic that ultimately ends in a constructive and fruitful environment for projects to develop and grow into films its creators can be proud of.
